This piece is inspired by the bird Quiscalus mexicanus, called "pich" in the Mayan language of the Yucatan Peninsula. Artefacto Pich is part of a series of pitch-black wooden sculptures featuring a burnt finish using the yakisugi method, designed by Lørdag & Søndag in Mexico city and manufactured by master artisan César Zamorano from Torno Tonalá, in the city of Tonalá, Jalisco.Fun fact: Pich are often called "crows" although they are not related to the corvus family.
